About the Position: The installation rests in the beautiful 'hill and lake' country of Central Texas between Killeen and Copperas Cove and is approximately 60 miles north of the capital city of Austin, 50 miles south of Waco, 160 miles south of Dallas, and 150 miles north of San Antonio.

Duties

Train, or arrange for the training of, team members to accomplish tasks or projects. Utilize engineering technician skills and knowledge in the inspection of facilities and associated systems. Analyze labor, material, equipment and procedures used by the contractor to determine overall efficiencies and effectiveness. Ensure that the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision and values are integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and products/services. Assign daily work to Engineer Technicians in the performance of the contractor's budget and cost control; technical management; business management, and subcontracting policies/procedures.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
• This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
• This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.

• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
