This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The installation rests in the beautiful 'hill and lake' country of Central Texas between Killeen and Copperas Cove and is approximately 60 miles north of the capital city of Austin, 50 miles south of Waco, 160 miles south of Dallas, and 150 miles north of San Antonio.

Duties

Develop criteria documents for inclusion in design packages for METASYS System Extended Architecture (MSEA) and Utilities Monitoring Control System (UMCS). Prepare designs and/or specification for various utility systems related to specific Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS) and Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC). Troubleshoot operation of wireless radios to ensure optimal availability of communication channels and/or continual communication with required systems. Perform programming and/or integration of Direct Digit Controls devices and Advanced. Provide Quality Assurance (QA) duties related to services such as Direct Digital Controls systems, METASYS, LONWORKs, Advanced Meters, etc.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
• This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
• Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license and any installation and/or DoD license required for the type of vehicle being driven.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing updates to Utility Monitoring and Control Systems (UMCS); utilizing METASYS software to program, integrate, and/or manage Direct Digital Controls (DDC) of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and Advanced Meter Systems; or Analyzing Advanced meter data to ensure accuracy. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
