You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (CONSTRUCTION) in the NAVFAC FACILITIES ENGIEERING AND ACQUISITION DIVISION (FEAD) of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE.
Duties
You will apply knowledge of construction practices, methods and management of a level and type gained through extensive training and experience.
You will write and speak, concisely and authoritatively, to report on progress and outcome of technical assignments and to present recommendations.
You will apply communication and conflict resolution skills to solve challenging, sometimes contentious issues without compromising the overall team effectiveness and contract execution.
You will monitor construction projects to a safe, successful and timely completion. Knowledge of corporate standard construction scheduling software packages used on assigned projects.
You will interpret project schedules to identify project challenges and proactively plan execution of duties as effectively as possible.
You will use IT tools and their functionality, including computer systems and related accessories, as they relate to Construction Quality Management (CQM), engineering practices and construction methods.
You will apply knowledge of safety and occupational health principles, practices, procedures, law, and regulations as they relate to engineering performance requirements.

- Reassignments within the commuting area may be required as the workload is reduced at one site and increased at another.
- The incumbent may be required to work overtime. Call back and emergency overtime are regular requirements of this position. Overtime may be required, but not guaranteed on a regular basis.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following1) Provides engineering support services in the field of construction contracts. 2) Coordinates work in detail with key personnel within the prime and subcontractor's staff, Public Works personnel, facilities representatives from the Supported Command/using Activity, and various Installation personnel and departments to ensure the construction effort stays on schedule and within budget while minimizing adverse impact to base operations. 3) Provides guidance and assistance to subordinate ETs, the Supervisory General Engineer or Project Management and Engineering Branch Head, and Construction Managers. 4) Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, considering the difficulty and requirements of the assignments, the type of work, existing workload within the FEAD/ROICC/OICC, and the capabilities of the employees. 5) Considered a local subject matter expert in NAVFAC Construction Quality Management (CQM).NOTE: This information must be FULLY supported in your resume to be considered for the position.
