You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist the International Sustainment Department of NAVAL AIR SYSTEM COMMAND HQ-OSF.
This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Duties
You will participate in the development and design of new systems by assessing the supportability and maintainability of proposed systems and technology applications.
You will perform cost analysis and life cycle costing studies for assigned systems.
You will review and approve contractor maintenance factors to be validated during testing.
You will conduct on-site review of contractor logistics/maintenance testing and mock-ups.
You will review and approve any changes to logistics plans, including Maintenance Plans.

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You must be certified as a Career Field Life Cycle Logistics Level 3. Certification is required within 24 months of appointment.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or NH-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Planning and establishing logistics support capabilities; 2) Identifying, budgeting, and managing resource requirements for logistics/maintenance plans; 3) Determining the actions required for procurement of resources needed for system logistic support; 4) Reviewing and recommending logistics plans, including Maintenance Plans, for all of the life cycle phases.
