About the Position: Serves as a Logistics Management Specialist at the Army Field Support Battalion- Charleston (AFSBn-CHS), Goose Creek, SC. This is a TERM appointment NTE 13 months

Duties

Participate in the establishing, planning, managing, overseeing, and execution of operations in support of pre-positioned afloat materiel. Review policy and procedural issues raised by installations and activities. Serve as a by-name designated AFSBn-CHS Quality Assurance Representative (QAR). Provide advice, action plans and milestones, assistance and direction in system analysis that may affect the fielding of integrated systems. Execute oversight of the AFSBn-CHS Operating Contractor to ensure contractor performed equipment services and supply/logistics programs meet requirements specified in the contract. Furnished Material (GFM) and Equipment (GFE) related to contract support programs. Coordinate with contractors and internal/external customers.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent may be required to travel up to 25% to perform duties/attended training.
  • Incumbent may be required to serve a1 year probationary period.
  • Designated Emergency Essential Position: This position is considered essential to support Army's mobilization and wartime mission during periods of increasing tension or mobilization.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • As an Emergency Essential employee incumbent will be required to undergo an initial and annual physical.
  • If deployed the incumbent may be required to receive any required immunizations.
  • Prior to appointment to the position, the employee will sign a statement agreeing to the Emergency Essential Condition of Employment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes serving as a Quality Assurance Representative (QAR), providing logistical program oversight to determine necessary actions needed to plan, establish and develop overall operational logistics criteria and proper use of resources. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Organizational AwarenessPlanning and EvaluatingSupply Support Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
