About the Position: Thís position is located within the Directorate of Medicine at the Womack Medical Center in Fort Liberty, NC. Incumbent will serves as a Supply Technician responsible for performing a variety of technical medical quality control supply functions to manage, control and implement quality control policies and procedures within the medical treatment facility and surrounding clinics.

Duties

Order, receive and stock medical and non-medical supplies and equipment within a medical treatment facility (MTF) or clinic. Maintain a tracking system for medical and non-medical supplies and equipment. Coordinate the requisition, receipt and issue of medical supplies and/or medical and non-medical equipment. Purchase non-medical and medical supplies, equipment and items for a Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) or clinic. Review logistic transactions for demand history, acquisition, excesses, warehouse refusals, discrepancies and other actions to determine effect on previous and current transactions. Receive, inspect, identify, and secures all shipments received from vendors.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
  • This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position has been designated Weather Essential. In the event of inclement weather conditions the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • This position requires the use of a government vehicle. Incumbent must obtain and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • This position requires a drug test.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing automated logistic systems to track and order non-medical and medical supplies; restocking supply rooms as needed; picking up supply orders from various locations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer SkillsCustomer ServiceInventory Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
