About the Position: Serves as a Combat Paramedic Program Training Instructor for the Department of OP MED, Tactical MED Read Division/ Combat Paramedic, located at Fort Sam Houston, TX.
This is a TERN NTE 4 Years position.
Duties
Organizing, illustrating and interpreting course materials, to give expression to the abstract principles and concepts associated with NHTSA EMT-P Curricula, BLS, ALS, PEPP, TCCC, PHTLS, and AMLS programs.
Obtain information, define problems, identify relationships, assess impact and develop recommendations to advise leadership on the impact of systemic training management and program changes, issues, problems and the execution of training objectives.
Planning, developing and managing comprehensive instructor-training within the Combat Paramedic Program where duties include (but are not limited to) developing and modifying classes and material.
Ensuring adherence to command training doctrine in developing lessons; using judgment and discretion on modifying subject matter content as needed; independently maintaining and updating materials based on research.
Responsible for overall maintenance of assigned courses and determine the need for and initiate changes/updates in course content.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes planning, developing and managing comprehensive instructor-training within the Combat Paramedic Program where duties include (but are not limited to) developing and modifying classes and material; updating and writing lessons; ensuring adherence to command training doctrine in developing lessons; using judgment and discretion on modifying subject matter content as needed; independently maintaining and updating materials based on research. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled , such as, education, instructional design, or training and development.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
