You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN of PSNS and IMF.
Duties
You will develop and track procurement packages for production work using the Advanced Industrial Management (AIM) System database and the MSE Suite.
You will generate production documents based on technical documents.
You will develop statements of work (SOW), statements of objectives (SOO), material ordering data, production work documents, and task group instructions required to accomplish overhaul, repair, and or procurements for Ocean Engineering systems.
You will determine applicability of available technical information and guidance for accomplishment of production tasks, suitability of existing
procedures, processes, and methods, and identify additional guidance where needed.
You will provide pre-planning, job planning, material research, and task instruction generation for the various projects within the Ocean
Engineering department.
Requirements
- Must successfully complete all necessary nuclear and non-nuclear training, and pass any physical requirements required in the performance of the position.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- You will be required to successfully pass a Counter-Intelligence (CI) Polygraph on a random basis not to exceed every 5 years in the performance of the position.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
Qualifications
GS-10 Qualifications:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector employing technical engineering methods and practices to analyze work flow, material procurement, or technical instructions to identify issues and recommend improved work methods or procedures for ship or submarine system repair, overhaul, or maintenance projects.
