This position is located in the Executive Office of the President, The United States Trade Representative.
The incumbent is responsible for providing daily administrative support services
in the Washington. D.C. offices, and for planning for the delivery of services for meetings and
conferences, as needed.
Duties
As a SUPPORT SERVICES SPECIALIST, GS-0342-13, your typical work assignments may include the following:
Develop and implement centralized agency Administrative Support Services management goals and objectives for assigned areas of responsibility and provides input for the agency's resource formulation process through estimates and justifications of administrative service's needs.
Serve as the trouble-shooter and expediter of urgent or involved projects. Holds discussions with agency employees to identify and resolve administrative services problems, develops plans to defuse problems and minimize potential adverse impact.
Design and implement appropriate systems, including automated information systems, to maintain accurate service data and facilitate the provision of efficient administrative support services.
Continuously evaluate Washington office building and facilities' needs, brings buildingproblems and deficiencies to the attention of the Director of Facilities and recommends approaches to resolving problems.
Consult with the EOP Office of Administration, the General Services Administration and other agencies on policies, programs, laws and regulations affecting USTR's administrative support services programs.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: All applicants must meet the qualification requirements outlined below to be considered minimally qualified for this position. The qualification requirements are in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standards.
ALL QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE MET BY THE CLOSING DATE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the next lower grade or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector.
You may qualify at the GS-GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector that demonstrates.
1) Identifying and resolving administrative services problems, developing plans to defuse problems and minimize potential adverse impact.
2) Providing daily administrative support services and planning for the delivery of services for meetings and conferences.
3) Conducting studies, surveys, and analysis related to facilities management.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
