You will serve as a Electrician Supervisor I in the Electrical/Electronics Shop (Codes 950), Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901), Production Resources Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will serve as a first line Electrician Supervisor charged with exercising supervision over subordinate workers in accomplishing electrician work. You will deliver cost, schedule, and quality performance to our customers. You will be responsible for the quality and quantity of the work performed by subordinates, requiring the application of expert knowledge of the methods, techniques, processes, procedures, tools, materials, and practices of the electrician trade. You will clearly communicate performance standards to subordinates. You will plan the use of workers, equipment, facilities, materials, and tools for the assigned units of work. You will effectively communicate work assignments to subordinates. You will conduct planning reviews with assigned personnel, engineers, and technicians of support codes when needed. You will monitor the status of assigned work in relation to the overall scheduled requirements.

• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

• This position may require the ability to work in small and/or confined spaces.
