You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCE SPECIALIST (CLASSIFICATION/HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT) in the ASSISTANT CHIEF OF STAFF, G-1 of MARINE CORPS RECRUIT DEPOT.

Duties

You will apply skill and work experience in applying a wide range of Human Resource Management concepts, practices, laws, regulations, policies and precedents sufficient to provide comprehensive advisory/consultant services You will organize functions and work practices in the fields of classification, Human Resources development, and civilian awards sufficient to advise management in resolving complex problems and issues. You will analyze and evaluate an organization's current staffing situation to include researching and developing solutions and strategies to classification and position management problems incorporating a variety of flexibilities. You will provide comprehensive HR services to management and employees throughout a multi-mission facility/installation on special projects such as realignments to provide management with insight in establishing organizational structures. You will support desired grade levels, and facilitate career development by advising management on developing and maintaining the proper balance between the organization strategic plans and goals

Requirements

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Develop standardized position descriptions for common occupations by update existing position descriptions and/or using new position classification standards; review a variety of awards packages to ensure all requirements have been met; coordinate training logistics (e.g., audiovisual equipment acquisition, room set-ups, training site) to prepare for classroom courses; and design program briefs to update senior leaders on human resources programs. GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Provide program management guidance for classification, training development, and the employee recognition awards program; implement new and/or updates to position builds standards (e.g. Professional, scientific, admin, and technical fields); plan and deliver a variety of training programs and development plans; update, revise, publish and manage a command civilian awards programs; brief a diverse audience to review findings and recommend guidance. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

GS-11;
  • I have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR
  • I have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree OR
  • I have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.
