The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Air Force (AF) analyst and to provide expertise in initiating, applying, and planning war-gaming studies and recognized as the Air Force Warfighting Integration Capability Decision Analytics Division (A57IX) authority on planning, organizing, coordinating, staffing and analysis in support of wargaming, providing expert guidance and advice to Air Force headquarters staff, major command (MAJCOM) activities, and/or other agencies.
Duties
Perform independent analysis leading to unique wargaming proposals and studies that recommend alternative courses of action to senior Air Force officials.
Design, research and conduct complex, major gaming studies that are unique, difficult to define, and require unconventional approaches.
Review and evaluate study projects, proposals, and/or reports for adequacy of methodology, including the use or development of game activities, ensuring the techniques used are valid and appropriate to the problem or issue identified.
Advise other analysts on matters concerning scientific work requiring the design, development, and adaptation of gaming methods and techniques.
Attend meetings, conferences, briefings, and seminars related to program planning, advanced technologies, and support system concepts.

- This position is centrally managed by the Operations Career Field team. Travel and relocation expenses will be paid.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Group Standard for Administrative & Management Positions
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level which has equipped me with the knowledge, skill, and ability to successfully perform the duties of Program Analyst. Specialized experience is experience which includes applying a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of major aspects of plans and programs such as wargames, exercises, deployment, and similar operations; and to evaluate responses to plans and studies; evaluate the effectiveness of planning actions as related to war and mobilization, and other contingency or operation plans and design and coordinate comprehensive wartime studies, and develop solutions to critical operational and contingency areas.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a broad range of wargaming methods and techniques used to develop concepts of operation and employment for advanced weapons concepts and capabilities.
2. Ability to participate in study teams; originate new ideas, projects, and methodologies; and execute projects and/or studies within established financial and/or time constraints.
3. Knowledge of requirements to plan, staff, resource and coordinate activities necessary to execute wargaming events.
4. Ability to develop and utilize appropriate data collection techniques.
5. Ability to gather, assemble, and analyze facts, draw conclusions, conduct analysis, devise recommended solutions, and package the entire process in briefings, papers, or reports suitable for top management use and decision-making.
6. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, negotiate complex issues, and maintain good working relations.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
