This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration, Equal Employment Opportunity Office. The Division develops policies and programs and provides expertise and consultative services to assist managers and employees to improve their EEO posture and supports diversity initiatives consistent with NARA's objectives. Also provides program management and oversight of programs for Reasonable Accommodation (RA), functional expertise and requirements to assist the RA program.
Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-12. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
As an Equal Employment Specialist (Reasonable Accommodation Coordinator), you will:
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Interpreting and applying Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws, regulations, policies, procedures
AND
Receiving and independently processing reasonable accommodation requests from employees and/or applicants
AND
Developing and/or delivering training on EEO policies and programs
Specialized Experience: For the GS-11, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Applying Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws, regulations, policies, procedures
AND
Receiving and processing reasonable accommodation requests from employees and/or applicants
OR
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M., if related
OR
You may qualify by a combination of experience and education
Note: Only graduate level education in excess of 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable (as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F):
For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11level for 52 weeks.
For the GS-11, you must have been at the GS-09 level for 52 weeks.
