This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent provides analytics, management and oversight in support of worldwide operations, to facilitate on-time deployment of forces through Joint Operations Planning and Execution System (JOPES)/Joint Planning and Execution System (JPES) processes and information technology (IT).

Duties

As a SUPERVISORY FORCE MANAGEMENT OVERSIGHT ANALYST at the GS-0301-14 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as the principal advisor to the Deputy Chief and Chief Global Force Management (GFM) Policy, Policy, Process and Technology (PP&T) Division for administrative, operational and management functions of the Branch. Responsible for the supervision of all personnel assigned to the Branch with management and oversight for operational, adaptive and crises action planning matters that affect operational plans, contingency operations, exercises, civil and humanitarian support, as well as joint operations, and deployments. Provides branch management, direction and oversight of internal and external operational relationships; ongoing and planned operations, training, contingencies, and exercises, to include command positions and points of contact. Determines required force providing strategies/solutions via a thorough expertise of GFM-enabling technology such as: Joint Operations Planning and Execution System (JOPES); Joint Planning and Execution Services(JPES);Joint Capabilities Requirement Management (JCRM); ORION Decision Support Platform applications, Advanced Analytics (Advana); Newsgroups, and Services data providing/feeder applications. Applies knowledge and understanding of national security policy, its developmental process, and the interrelationships among the National Security Strategy, National Military Strategy, Global Naval Force Presence Policy (GNFPP), Global Military Force Presence Policy (GMFPP), DoD and CJCS policies and guidance is paramount to shaping the use of joint forces worldwide. Provides branch/division level cognizance and oversight of internal and external operational command relationships; ongoing and planned operations, contingency responses and deployment execution matters of joint forces, training, exercise participation and war-gaming to include command positions and points of contact.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service: Developing, reviewing, and coordinating operational planning, policy, contingency response and deployment execution to ensure timely, doctrinally accurate, and effective contingency deployment, training, exercise participation, and war gaming; Adapting numerous Combatant Commands Operational, Functional, and Concept plans to support the plans, operations for force deployment processes and theater contingency operations; Applying knowledge of national security policy, its developmental process, and the interrelationships among the National Security Strategy, National Military Strategy, Optimized Fleet Response Plan, and policy guidance shaping the use of joint forces worldwide to ensure mission objectives; Facilitating contingency sourcing and force feasibility assessments through analytical practices and senior leader needs; Ensuring regulatory compliance of current political-military U.S. National/Regional policies, issues, and as it applies to U.S. National/Regional policy objectives. (Experience must be reflected in resume) Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
