About the Position: This a Permanent position with Directorate of Human Resources located on Fort Jackson, S.C.
Telework information: Situational Telework Only, Including emergency and OPM prescribed unscheduled telework.
Duties
Perform a variety of clerical duties such as maintain files and compose routine correspondence.
Review military personnel records to assure completeness and identify inconsistencies.
Process personnel actions for arriving and departing military personnel.
Update and maintain data in multiple Human Resources data systems.
Answer questions and explain procedures pertaining to entitlements and processes.
Operate personnel computer to prepare a variety of correspondence into final form.
Requirements

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. PROFIENCY REQUIREMENT: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying a standardized body of military human resources rules, procedures, and operations concerning military personnel; verifying documents, and record maintenance & accountability; and experience using military human resources automation systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
