About the Position: This position is located with the Martin Army Community Hospital, Fort Moore, Georgia which will require the incumbent to perform duties as a Training Specialist with the responsibility for developing, evaluating, coordinating, delivering and facilitating a resuscitative training program to all employees assigned to and/or employed by Martin Army Community Hospital.

Duties

Perform duties as a Training Specialist with responsibility for developing, evaluating, coordinating, delivering and facilitating a resuscitative training program to all employees. Serve as Training Faculty to the Military Training Network (MTN) for BLS, ACLS, PALS and as Program Administrator to the MTN for BLS, ACLS and PALS ensuring the integrity of all resuscitation programs. Plan and coordinate training courses, request training rooms, recruit and confirm students and instructors, and make course schedule and instructor assignments. Transport, set-up, tear-down and inventory training equipment and materials on all courses. Maintain hard copy of course rosters, tests and evaluations for all BLS, ACLS, and PALS classes taught as required by established guidelines. Apply basic instructional methods and techniques. As Program Administrator for BLS, ACLS, and PALS, incumbent mentor, monitor and evaluate instructors as required for instructors to maintain their certification. Research new training techniques and implement new programs as necessary in accordance with the American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes (1) facilitating a resuscitative training program; (2) Conducting administrative tasks such as maintaining attendance rosters and training certification, issuing student cards, preparing reports, coordinating with training instructors and training materials, setting up classroom and equipment, and maintaining testing materials. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: education, teaching, or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college and training instructions field of study. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education / Training Program AdministrationHealthcare ActivitiesManages and Organizes InformationOral Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
