About the Position: This position is located at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

Duties

Plan and instruct courses such as: Admissions and Dispositions procedures, Medical Statistical Reporting methodology and procedures, Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology, quality assurance in medical records, Risk Management assessments. Teach classes in the areas of Individual Patient Data Coding, Inpatient and Outpatient Medical Records/reports; Admission and Disposition Processing, Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology, and additional subject area. Responsible for the preparation of lesson plans, general references, practical exercises, and training aids for use by training facilities. Serve as curriculum committee member for courses, coordinating with other members on training needs and proposed methods of meeting those needs. Monitor students' academic progress throughout the course and provides counseling on course requirements, grading policies, and other academic requirements. Counsel students in regards to personal or disciplinary problems as well as academic performance and takes corrective action while working closely with the responsible class coordinator to resolve any issues.

OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Healthcare Administration, Medical Science, Education, etc. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
