About the Position: Serves as an Operations Staff Specialist in the Operations Support Branch of the Operations Division, HQ IMCOM, which provides operations support services to HQ IMCOM and four regional offices, and installations, located in Fort Sam Houston, TX.
Duties
Ability to identify problem, and potential problem, areas based on daily observance or studies.
Analyze and measure the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of administrative programs and develop written and oral recommendations for improvement.
Communicate effectively orally and in the written form to deal effectively with high-ranking military, civilian officials and/or local officials.
Use judgment in determining intent of broad policy and guidance made by DOD, HQDA, and ACSIM, providing interpretation and amplifying instructions for use by directorate/division staff and subordinate commands and activities.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes planning, developing, implementing, integrating, coordinating, and evaluating operations and plans programs designed to provide direct mission and mission support to a dynamic and complex mission organization. Contributes to the effectiveness of management program operations at all organizational levels and directly impacts upon overall mission accomplishment. Work with critical assessment of operations and plans covering a broad area of operational and management services, and the adaptation and or development of evaluative techniques for application to such operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
