About the Position: Serves as a Human Resources Specialist (Military) in the General Officer Management Office (GOMO) and shares fully in the duties, responsibilities, and authorities of the chief. Include accessions, assignments, professional development, force structure, promotions, joint officer requirements, Reserve Components, retirements, transition assistance, and military personnel actions. Located in Arlington, VA.
Duties
Apply a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods to identify, analyze and improve team effectiveness.
Develop and execute policy and procedures for retirement, promotions and assignments options.
Interpret policy and provides leadership with expectation management on unusual or exceptional cases.
Prepare associated joint qualification waiver requests for approval.
Articulate and communicate program issues under review.

Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing agency policies, programs, and procedures for the organization; reviewing strategic level personnel management issues; communicating alternative courses of action related to increasing personnel readiness across the forces; and researching a variety of legislative reference and information materials to maintain compliance with policies and laws. This specialized experience is equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service.
GS-14
Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes developing agency policies, programs, and procedures for the organization; resolving strategic level personnel management issues; developing alternative courses of action related to increasing personnel readiness across the forces; and analyzing a variety of legislative reference and information materials to maintain compliance with policies and laws. This specialized experience is equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12/13).
