About the Position: This position is located in 75TH RANGER REGIMENT 2ND BATTALION JBLM, WA 98433.
Duties
Plans, coordinates, executes, and monitors a comprehensive Battalion-level military HR program to address and support the needs of the Soldiers and civilians assigned or attached to the Battalion.
Processes administrative discharge actions to include staff analysis and recommendations for action. Coordinates and monitors family readiness and morale, health, and welfare functions of the battalion.
Manages personnel actions for a training base to include in and out processing and coordination of HR related issues as they occur while in a student status.
Serves as S1 work leader of assigned civilian and military human resource technicians.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- TDY may be up to 10%.
- A 2-year probation may be required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1.Experience working with database systems such as Total Officer Personnel Management Information System (TOPMIS), Electronic Military Personnel Office (eMILPO) and Integrated Personnel and Pay System - Army (IPPS-A) since GoLIVE 2. Experience in HR Military functions such as strength management, evaluations, and personnel actions. 3. Identifying deficiencies and solutions to problem areas impacting the success of military personnel operations 4. Interpreting and applying Human Resources policies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
