AS FIRST LEVEL SUPERVISOR, Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time. AS OPERATIONS OFFICER, PLANS, ORGANIZES, AND OVERSEES THE ACTIVITIES OF THE LOGISTICS READINESS SQUADRON. Directs the mission and establishes the goals of the organization consistent with Group, Wing, Command, and AF strategic plans. Serves as an advisor to commanders on operational issues; directs short and long-range programs addressing a broad range of Air Force (AF) logistics needs and interests. Oversees fiscal operations to include civilian pay and operational budget planning, programming, and execution. Reviews all budgets and prepares initial recommendations on priority and execution for Commander/Director approval. Prepares and presents financial analysis of activities to the MAJCOM as required.
AS THE FOCAL POINT FOR LRS SUPPORT TO RDT&E PROGRAMS. Directly responsible for coordinating 412th Logistics Readiness Squadron managers and other team members in developing Capability and Resource Estimates (C&RE) and logistics support planning for assigned test projects. Logistics lead and subject matter expert (SME) in the formulation and interpretation of logistics planning policy and organizational support for testing efforts.
MAKES A PERIODIC, COMPREHENSIVE ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATION OF PROGRAM GOALS/OBJECTIVES, WHICH PROVIDE BASIS FOR LONG-RANGE PLANNING TO ENHANCE THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION SUPPORT CAPABILITIES. The incumbent has responsibility for managing, integrating, and coordinating the collective efforts of a multi-disciplined staff of military, civilian, and/or contractors required to effectively provide logistics services.
REPRESENTS THE LOGISTICS READINESS SQUADRON AT A VARIETY OF MEETINGS WITH INSTALLATION ORGANIZATIONS AND OUTSIDE AGENCIES. The assigned programs are often characterized by unusual managerial complexities and demands, as well as substantial uncertainties and risk. Represents the Commander/Director at group and wing level meetings that involve logistics support. Ensures Squadron Commander/Director is kept apprised of all projects being performed and/or managed by the Squadron well as any issues associated with them
Provide program management and oversight of supply, fuels distribution, logistics readiness, Transportation Management Office and vehicle maintenance/repair operations. - Ensures education in compliance with and practice of security directives, good safety, and in all work areas Ensures employees with access to classified information comply with security directives - Ensures all Transportation, Deployment and Supply activities for the Installation and DOD assigned area of operations are executed directs the materiel management section that is responsible for stocking, storing, issuing, proper utilization, consumption, and disposal of DoD supplies and equipment
Conducts, attends and makes presentations at a number of regular and ad hoc meetings and conferences

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, All Professional Engineering positions located here
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next the next lower grade NH-02 equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience in developing generalized plans or statements of scope of work and provides technical expertise. Insures compliance associated with Vehicle Operations and Maintenance, Fleet Management, Traffic Management program and logistics readiness (Deployments) and develops site-specific standards. Allocates resources and distributes work to subordinate supervisors.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1. Expert knowledge of analytical and evaluative methods.
2. Comprehensive working knowledge of logistics concepts, management, and experience for both test and operational programs, and an extensive ability in acquisition logistics planning and program management.
3. Detailed knowledge of Air Force policies, procedures, and management practices.
4. Thorough knowledge of quantitative and qualitative methods and techniques.
5. Knowledge of AFTC structure, mission, programs, and organizational relationship.
6. Ability to direct the efforts of special study groups, tasking members and coordinating their efforts, to identify potential problems, assess impacts on operations, develop and disseminate Installation policy statement or response.
7. Practical knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures related to developing, planning, budgeting, and coordinating activities, programs, facility programming, contracting, and internal/external customers.
8. Knowledge of safety, security, compliance, resourcing, innovation, and other command support programs, regulations, practices, and procedures.
