About the Position: Serves as Security Specialist under the supervision of the Director, Resource Management Division, Office of the Chief of Public Affairs. Responsible for providing a variety of security and administrative services essential to the direction and efficient operation of the organization. Located in Arlington, VA.
Duties
Conduct basic security orientations for assigned personnel, periodic refresher briefings, and debriefings.
Develop and implement physical security/crime prevention programs.
Identify and review user requests for Information Technology (IT) and software.
Handle personnel security briefings for personnel traveling to countries where security is of concern to ensure they receive mandatory security briefings.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing automated security management tools to determine access eligibility; performing security briefings for traveling personnel; interpreting physical security program plans; reviewing the organizational requirements for the Government Purchase Card; and ensuring compliance with IT security requirements. This specialized experience is equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
