This position is part of the Comptroller/Chief Financial Officer Directorate. The incumbent will be responsible for establishing/implementing DoD-wide financial management policies and practices for the Missile Defense Program.
Duties
As a Financial Management Analyst at the NH-0501-4 broadband level some of your typical work assignments may include:
Responsible member of the top management team of the Agency. Fully participates as a technical advisor in all significant management planning and policy and decision-making actions in the Agency.
Active in formal and informal management sessions, including policy reviews and advisory boards or committees whose functions are not limited to financial management. This includes advisory services relating to management plans, policies, and decisions involving important financial considerations.
Advisory services provided are broad in scope and consistently reflect all major facets of the financial management program of the organization, a mastery of the financial management policies and practices of the DoD, and keen awareness of the best business practices used in the private sector.
Participates in meetings, working groups, and other process area related meetings as an advisor and as a value-added contributor and collector of organizational related information.
Performs wide variety of analytical duties connected with planning, prioritizing, justifying, directing, controlling, managing, and implementing business transformation. Contributes to the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of the agency operations through training and responding to management requirements.
Prepares, reviews, and approves major reports or policies of organization for internal and external distribution.
Resolves diverse viewpoints/controversial issues. Presents organizational briefings to convey strategic vision or organizational policies.

- Financial Management Level Ill Certified position IAW the National Defense Authorization Act (NOAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, Section 1599d. Incumbent shall comply with the requirements of this certification program.
- Must obtain and maintain a Non-Critical Sensitive (Secret) Security Clearance
- This is an acquisition position coded Business-Financial Management Advanced Level. Selectee must obtain mandatory DAWIA certification within 48 months of entrance on duty. Selectee must acquire 80 continuous learning points every two years.
Qualifications
The Salary range for Redstone Arsenal, AL is $120,849 - $183,500
The Salary range for Fort Belvoir, VA is $132,368 - $183,500
You may qualify at the NH-04 if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03/GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:
Experience using management and organizational practices; planning and evaluating complex program functions in order to develop and implement effective DoD strategies.
Experience as a technical advisor in all significant management planning and policy and decision-making actions in the Agency. Active in formal and informal management sessions, including policy reviews and advisory boards or committees (whose functions are not limited to financial management) to include advisory services relating to management plans, policies, and decisions.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
