Duties
As a TRAINING AND EXERCISE PROGRAM SPECIALIST at the GS-0301-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Serving as an expert advisor and a program/project lead for training, exercise, and education/evaluation requirements, events and activities within the TREX & Education/Evaluation Division.
Provides mission support by determining/recommending the best approaches or solutions for resolving critical TREX issues.
Plans, coordinates, and oversees exercise participation of JECC members to meet present and future mission requirements.
Conducts oversight and manages reporting of the JECC's and subordinate commands' training and readiness programs.
Serves as technical advisor to senior management at JECC headquarters and its subordinate commands on the training, readiness and exercise programs.

- This is a KEY position. In the event of a crisis situation, the incumbent, or designated alternate must continue to perform the duties until relieved by proper authority
- Travel and relocation expenses, if approved, will be paid IAW JTR and AFMAN 36-606
Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
Serving as an expert advisor and a program/project lead for training, exercise, and education/evaluation requirements, events and activities within an Education/Evaluation Division.
Developing objectives, integrating the objectives into exercises, completing assessments and providing accurate reporting of training accomplishments.
Evaluating training and exercise practices and procedures for compliance with applicable regulations and directives.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
