Per 5 CFR 335.103(c)(3)(v), this is a non-competitive reassignment opportunity open to those qualified who hold (or have held) a position equivalent to (or higher than) an NT-4 (GS-11 and GS-12 equivalency) on a permanent basis in the competitive service. You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the Maritime Electronic Warfare Systems Division (WXM), Spectrum Warfare Systems Department (WX) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.

Duties

You will will serve as the Lab Lead for WXMR over Decoy Depot workload. You will work with contracting personnel and conducting repairs on Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) supported Decoy LRUs, and provide status updates and issues up through the management chain to keep the project operating at maximum efficiency. You will serve as the lead security custodian for Building 480. You will present data to Division management via PowerPoint and white papers to communicate clearly and concisely on status, updates, risk, and issues. You will interpret and utilize standard operating procedures, and drawings, with the ability to work with engineering to provide meaningful readiness.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You must be willing and able to lift and/or carry loads/items up to 50 pounds in weight.
  • You may be required to work in lab environment and in secured spaces.
  • You must be able to obtain and maintain J-Solder Certification.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-03 (GS-09/10 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing technical engineering methods and procedures to provide technical guidance and resolution on the assessment, testing, or repair of decoy systems in order to sustain fleet operations.
