You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER in the COMMAND AND ADMINISTRATIVE PROGRAM (N00) of NAVAL STA NT RI.

Duties

You will advise customers on administrative policies, programs and procedures. You will execute current law and policy while ensuring manpower, budget, materials and training is sufficient for program execution. You will administer support services for the organization ( e.g. Personnel actions, manpower requirements, military awards per SECNAV M-1650.1, and correspondences per SECNAV M-5216.5, budgets). You will compose directives and procedures in accordance with OPNAVINST 5215.17. You will identify areas of automation to improve the efficiency of administrative operations. You will manage program budget ensuring its sufficient for execution, monitor, review and validate obligations, coordinate and validate DTS orders/local vouchers, expenditures, reimbursable orders, and requests for purchases of equipment.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States drivers license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying management principles and practices, theories, and regulations, current/revised guidance, and policies regarding all facets of administrative programs; 2) Providing Administrative services and procedures such as forms management, files, directives, correspondence management, classified material custodian, records management, office equipment and supplies; 3) Monitoring/executing financial and budgetary transactions to ensure adequate control of funds; 4) Preparing and communicating program reports, changes in protocol, command directives and correspondences for administrative and support programs.
