The incumbent performs a variety of clerical, administrative and technical duties/responsibilities in direct support of the VA Non-Institutional Care (NIC) Programs which Include the Homemaker/Home Health Aide, In-Home Respite, Veterans Directed Home Care, and other NIC Programs In the future. The position also functions as an Information Administration Specialist and Automated Data Processing Applications Coordinator (ADPAC) for Social Work Service(SWS).
Duties
Duties include but are not limited to:
Incumbent will be responsible for ensuring patches are loaded that effect packages.
responsible for auditing data and performing data validation studies, working with other Services, Fiscal (DSS) staff for Workload Information, procedures and statistics.
Collects and analyzes information about the ADP program's Impact on workload of day-to-day operations and recommends (verbally and in writing) adjustments as needed for Implementation of new programs, solutions to problems, etc. Incumbent advises management of trends, problem areas, etc.
Reviews problems reported with regard to Social Work Service (SWS) programs to determine what action Is necessary to correct the problem(s}. Aids In documentation and resolution of software problems with Information Management Service (IMS). Incumbent utilizes the National On-Line Information System (NOIS) and Local On-line information System (LOIS) to report software technical problems to IMS and Customer Support.
Utilizes VISTA and other personal computer packages to provide management with clear, concise ad-hoc reports, summaries and presentations in a visually effective manner.
Participates in quality management, performance improvement and strategic planning or Social Work Service. Incumbent ls Involved in recommending improvements in processes and workflow, improving the efficiency of administrative processes and identifying required resources (e.g. staff, funding for the NIC programs). Will have responsibility in the training and orientation of new program support assistants and oversight of their work.
Responsible for coordinating bl-annual patient satisfaction surveys lo be sent to Veterans enrolled in the various programs. Assists the Section Chief and Program Coordinator in preparing graphs and reports to management on the success or these programs.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/14/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service.
An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.

Specialized experience includes but not limited to:
1) Makes travel arrangements, prepares and submits travel documents for staff members.
2) Experience serving as the Time and Leave Clerk for Service.
3) Schedules meetings, transcribes minutes, gathers reports, and tracks actions for committees.
4) Utilizes a range of software applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) to prepare correspondence.
5) Experience troubleshooting and maintaining personal computers for service employees.

Physical Requirements: Workload is varied and the work is primarily sedentary with the only physical demands being walking. reaching, bending, stretching, sitting and carrying light loads of supplies. A great deal of time is spent at the computer. Incumbent must be able to manage multiple activities at one time projecting a work setting that is running smoothly and effectively.
