About the Position: This position is located at the Maneuver Center of Excellence (MCOE), Ft. Moore, Georgia 31905. The Maneuver Center of Excellence is located 100 miles south of Atlanta and is adjacent to Columbus, Georgia and Phenix City, Al. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Public transportation and free parking is available.

Duties

Participate in task analysis for determining training requirements. Provide daily technical direction and support to students and military personnel. Assist in designing and developing training products for the Army Reconnaissance and Cavalry Leaders Course. Monitor quality testing procedures to assure students meet or exceed the standards approved in the final Program of Instruction. Review course material for technical accuracy. Identify training needs and makes recommendations to correct problems.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Pre-appointment medical examination/physical is required.
  • This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
  • The work of this position may require working in a field environment during hours of darkness requiring some overtime and night work.
  • The work of this position requires special physical demands such as prolonged walking, extensive standing, bending, climbing on vehicles and carrying moderately heavy items (weighing less than 50lbs.) such as weapons, office supplies, and furniture.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Developing & implementing evaluation products for learning programs; and 2) Analyzing evaluation data for learning programs; and 3) Identifying improvements for units of instruction using established training analysis & evaluation practices. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Education, Teaching or Instructing in an Adult Education Program, Secondary School, College, Education and Training Instructions. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Educational and Training TechnologyInstructional DesignLearning and Program EvaluationTraining and Education Analysis Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
