Duties

You will responsible for providing financial information and assistance to program managers or fund managers and Comptroller staff for programmatic decision-making. You will responsible for assisting in the implementation/execution of financial policies and procedures, including related systems, designed to accomplish the mission assigned to the Comptroller Directorate and assist in financially related matters You will assist in integrating accounting information from the Defense Finance and Accounting Service with programmatic information provided by program managers and budget analysts to assist in micro level analyses on specific programs and funds. You will provide training and on-site assistance to program managers and fund managers related to their financial record keeping, quality control reviews and accounting principles, procedures and applications for accounting system support. You will receives, reviews and reconciles accounting reports and prepares consolidated reports on program execution.

Requirements

  • This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.

Qualifications

GS-09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assist in analyzing, coordinating, evaluating, and reporting fiscal and accounting reconciliation accounts using a variety of financial systems. GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the G-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performs and reviews variety of technical fiscal, formulation of budgets and cost estimates to support plans, programs and activities, analyzing and recommending cost and benefits of alternative methods of financial management for an organization's programs and operations, accounting reconciliation and data analysis to ensure accuracy and efficiency of accounts using differential financial system. Education

In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify for the position based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education as follows:

GS-09:Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree

or

Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree

or

or

A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.

GS-11:Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.

or

A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
