You will serve as a Facility Operations Specialist in the Ranges/Targets Ops and Labs Group, Point Mugu Sea Range Department, Sea Range Operations Division, Sea Range Logistics and Facilities Branch of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV POINT MUGU.

Duties

You will assist in the implementation of policies, standards, processes and guidance in the areas of facility, space and equipment. You will execute tasking as directed by senior personnel or lead in support of facility and maintenance programs. You will analyze, plan and implement standards and policies for facility and structural space requirements. You will support a wide range of business requirement operations that include service, minor work, preventive and corrective maintenance and other necessary elements.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

Qualifications

GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Implementing a complex facility maintenance and asset management program involving complicated technical requirements and difficult issues or problems to determine facility deficiencies; 2) Determining appropriate solutions to operating problems, to plan for repairs, maintenance, and replacement of equipment and facilities utilizing complex asset management computer databases; 3) Applying construction methods, inspections, and cost-estimating labor, material, and equipment for a variety of construction, maintenance or repair projects; 4) Developing and coordinating a wide-range of asset data collection and evaluation. GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Implementing an asset management and condition assessment program in an operation of limited complexity; 2) Inspecting facilities to evaluate use patterns and identify maintenance or restoration requirements; 3) Developing corrective plans and cost estimates related to identification of maintenance or restoration needs. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.M., if related
