You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST in the S-1 Directorate, Human Resources Office (HRO) of MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII.

Duties

You will provide advice and assistance on staffing, recruitment, and classification to supervisors and employees, including special pay incentives, position reviews and classification evaluations, and applicant selection and onboarding. You will oversee and manage effective recognition programs or provide technical advice and guidance to commands to ensure a command-level program is in place and awards are appropriately used to recognize and award eligible employees. You will administer performance management system, which includes advising and educating the workforce on program requirements, assisting with use of electronic information systems to complete appraisals, and processing performance-based actions. You will provide advice and assistance to supervisors and employees on employee relations matters to maintain employer-employee relations that contribute to satisfactory productivity, motivation, morale, and discipline. You will provide advice and assistance to supervisors and employees on training and development, plan and coordinate training, deliver training, and perform recordkeeping for training completion and career development programs. You will provide information and assistance to civilian employees who have suffered work-related injuries or occupational diseases, including payment of medical expenses and compensation for wage loss.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.
  • You may be required to work occasional overtime.
  • This position is eligible for part time, full time or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:Provide advice and technical expertise in one or more areas of Human Resources to include Staffing and Recruitment, Classification, Employee Relations, Performance Management, Workers' Compensation, or Workforce Development and Training.
