About the Position: Serves as a Human Resources Specialist (Military) in the Soldier Transition Branch under Strength Management Branch, Military Human Resources Division, Headquarters, U.S. Army Medical Command (MEDCOM), located in Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
Duties
Provides military/civilian human resources management and advisory services in support of the Army Recovery Care Program.
Plans and carries out special projects involving a specific HR area or broad studies to resolve controversial issues or problems that affect the accurate and timely management of SRU strength management.
Position is responsible for the performance of a variety of analytical, consultative, advisory, evaluative, and monitorial duties relative to the organizational mission and strength management requirements in the Soldier Transition Branch.
Collects and analyzes data from all available sources to determine trends and opportunities to maximize efficiency.
Serves as team member for Soldier Transition Branch on Organizational Inspection Program (OIP)/Staff Assistance Visits (SAV) to ensure compliance with Department of the Army, Army Recovery Care Program, MEDCOM, and local policy and procedures.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance for the duration
of employment.
- This position has occasional Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement.
- Incumbent is subject to irregular and extended duty hours especially in conjunction with contingency operations and exercises.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience in providing technical advice and guidance regarding a wide variety of multi-component military Human Resources management regulations, policies and procedures, and programs that include strength management; personnel readiness; overseas assignments, strength accounting, replacement operations; awards; evaluations; separations; personnel actions; essential personnel service, mobilization plans/exercises; Records Management; Well-Being; Equal Opportunity; Interpret, develop, implement, and administer a variety of staff assignments in various military HR programs; Oversee the execution and implementation of policy and regulatory guidance on Soldier Recovery Unit HR services and Army Recovery Care Program.
