You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the MINOR CALIBER GUNS BRANCH of the GUNS DIVISION of the SYSTEMS INTEGRATION DEPARTMENT of NAVSURFWARCEN IH DIV.
This position is equivalent to the GS-11/12 level.
Duties
You will provide In-Service support and representation of the Minor Caliber Guns Branch during the manufacture, installation, repair, troubleshooting, overhaul, and conversion of NAVSEA Minor Caliber Guns.
You will conduct Naval Minor Caliber gun pre-fire checks, live fire exercises, post fire and periodic weapon maintenance, and weapon inventory accountability actions
You will provide advice to managers, supervisors, peers, and sponsors on specific technical aspects of Naval Minor Caliber gun systems or concept development and will communicate with the chain of command.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-03 (GS-09/10 equivalent) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector analyzing and interpreting technical engineering procedures to plan, coordinate, and execute the installation, repair, troubleshooting, overhaul, or conversion of gun weapons systems while ensuring compliance with technical requirements.
