This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Office of Congressional and Public Affairs.
This position serves as the Chief of the Brand Section. As the Chief, this position is responsible for the direct supervision of the Brand Section staff and reports directly to the Chief of Public Affairs. This supervision includes personnel responsible for DEA's internal website (DEA Today), external website (DEA.gov) and DEA's visual graphics.

As a Supervisory Public Affairs Specialist, your typical work assignments may include:
Development, oversight, and maintenance of the DEA brand standards that provides guidance for all internal and external communications.
Plans and approves all external communication via DEA's internal and external websites to convey critical agency programs, policies, and actions.
Recommends strategies for all aspects of the agency's brand program.
Evaluates analytics to assess customer needs and ensure that external communications reach intended audiences.
Serves as the coordinator of the DEA Publication Review Board (PRB) that is
responsible for the receipt and dissemination of all materials to agency subject matter experts for comprehensive and timely review.
Provides assignments and coordinates subordinates work, short-long term priorities, prepares schedules and oversights supervision of assigned programs.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. Qualification claims will be subject to verification.
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to a GS-14.
Experience:You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progress for the occupation in the organization which is a GS-14. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled.
Qualifying experience includes: 1) Planning, designing, and evaluating a print and digital communication program; 2) Developing and implementing a branding policy for an organization; 3) Leading a public affairs program or segments of the program following legal and executive mandates.
Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
