You will serve as a COMMUNITY PLANS AND LIAISON OFFICER in the S-5 Directorate of MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII.

Duties

You will serve as the Community Plans and Liaison Officer providing expert advice to the Commanding Officer and Directors of MCB Hawaii on a broad range of community relations and community planning issues. You will monitor and report on encroachment activities and/or incompatible land use development activities that may impact Marine Corps training. You will develop position papers, Base regulations, proposed legislative initiatives and other guidance as required to facilitate effective on-base land use planning actions. You will develop and present informational briefs regarding Base encroachment issues or other maters under Liaison Officer cognizance. You will oversee or coordinate a variety of non-recurring special projects as may be directed by the Commanding Officer.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: monitoring and reporting on encroachment activities and/or incompatible land use activities; providing advice on a broad range of community relations and community planning issues.
