You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the ENGINEERING & TESTING SECTION of the UNDERSEA & SURFACE ENERGY SYSTEMS BRANCH in the POWER AND ENERGY SYSTEMS DIVISION of the SPECIAL WARFARE & EXPEDITIONARY SYSTEMS DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.
The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $128,043).
Duties
You will serve as the Senior Lead Technician (SLT) and Process Supervisor for the Undersea Energy System Branch, supporting a variety of batteries consisting of different chemistries and formats, as well as battery test systems and equipment.
You will provide technical and program support expertise to aid in development and sustainment of new or improved systems or equipment.
You will review and provide expert guidance on all Undersea Energy System technical and programmatic documentation, including program plans, standard operating procedures, supplemental documents, test plans, and drawing packages.
You will oversee the calibration process, including maintaining the calibration schedule,
evaluating calibration tolerances for various equipment items, and maintaining awareness of changes in calibration costs.
You will maintain the laboratory Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), ensuring that all tasking is completed correctly, safely, and on time per customer requirements.
You will provide input to task leads for labor aspects of cost estimates for incoming workload, based on historical outcomes and changes to testing processes.
You will manage and oversee disposal of expended battery assets, including reclamation of precious metals.
You will provide guidance and training for operator qualification certification and explosive qualification certification, and maintain associated certification documentation for lab personnel.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalency) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector analyzing, developing, and utilizing engineering methods and procedures to assess electronic test systems, subsystems, or components to provide technical direction on troubleshooting and repair of Undersea Energy Systems and equipment to ensure operational readiness.
