This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Direct Hiring Authority-DIB & MRTFB to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Sierra Army Depot is located in Herlong CA, a rural town in Northern California. Herlong is approximately 60 miles north of Reno, NV, and 35 miles south of Susanville, CA. The depot serves as an Army Expeditionary Logistical Support Center. Employees work Mon-Thurs, 0630-1700.

Duties

Evaluate depot supply, maintenance, in-processing, receiving, storage, stock control, provisioning, distribution, shipping and transportation all associated equipment, supplies and chemicals. Perform verification inspections, reviews, audits and monitors procedures, techniques and methods associated with the storage, overhaul, maintenance and performance testing of Depot systems and equipment. Perform Quality Inspections, evaluations, audits and studies, then analyzes inspection results to determine root causes of quality deficiencies, trend analysis and recommends corrective action. Annotate Contractor's performance and identify any Contract Deficiencies to the Contracting Officer for all services performed by the Contractor. Serves as Technical Specialist for all aspects of Quality Assurance programs.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Temporary Duty Travel, TDY may be required up to 5% of the time.
  • This position requires the incumbent to possess and maintain a driver's license in one of the 50 US states or possessions.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. One year of specialized experience which includes: Performing quality assurance functions to analyze inspections results of water and/or petroleum systems; Evaluating the condition of equipment, supplies and chemicals to ensure regulatory standards; Monitoring procedures for equipment storage to improve quality process. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts for verification). OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts for verification).
