Secretary (OA) receives and directs callers and visitors. Provides information as required. Provides general telephone and visitor referral services if needed. Directs visitors and refers callers to appropriate staff member based on specific request or by ascertaining the nature of the request. Personally provides information of a routine nature. Maintains office supply items as needed. Performs clerical assignments in a variety of general support areas required in office environments.
Duties
Duties include but are not limited to:
Performs typing work, whether from voice recordings or written material either on an electric typewriter and/or computer software and equipment.
Types letters, reports, memoranda, inventories, rosters, and other general office material.
Types a variety of materials, in a rough draft or final form from voice recordings.
Performs general program support work such as the collection, compilation, research, and/or tracking of data and program information, and filing, copies.
Maintain office supply items as needed.
Performs clerical assignments in a variety of general support areas required in office environments.
Receives and directs callers and visitors.
Provides information as required.
Provides general telephone and visitor referral services if needed.
Directs visitors and refers callers to appropriate staff member based on specific request or by ascertaining the nature of the request.
Personally provides information of a routine nature.
Prepares, composes, or reviews correspondence prepared for the purpose of obtaining or supplying information.
Composes general informational correspondence.
Maintains time and attendance for commonly used pay plans and types of leave, or limited special pay situations.
Verifies the allow ability of the various hours changed on T&A reports, e.g., limited overtime, special pay, FLSA.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8: 00 AM - 4:30 PM

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/07/2023.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-04 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formats for a variety of documents such as letters, memorandums and policies. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with all levels of the organization to provide a satisfactory resolution for all concerns and/or inquires at the point of contact. Effectively organize, plan and follow-through all office activities by demonstrating initiative and completing tasks in a timely manner with attention to detail. Maintain office supply items as needed. Performs clerical assignments in a variety of general support areas required in office. Maintaining appointments, calendars and schedules.

Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts; or driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
