You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in the ORDNANCE ASSURANCE AND SAFETY OFFICE of NAVSURFWARCEN IH DIV. The NT-2 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-5 and GS-8. The NT-3 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-9 and GS-10. The full performance level is equivalent to the GS-11/12 level.

Duties

You will serve as an Assistant Site Approval Program Manager (ASPM). You will track submissions of site approval requests and communicating the status of site approvals to the customer. You will be responsible for maintaining a status of all Command explosives safety instructions and ensure required reviews and updates are conducted.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals).
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

NT-3: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-2 (GS-5/8 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying analytical and fact-finding techniques to identify safety risks and make recommendations in support of an explosive safety program. NT-2: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-1 (GS-1/4 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; plan and organize work; and communicate effectively orally and in writing. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

NT-3:

Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree

OR

Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree

OR

OR

A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience

NT-2:
