About the Position: Serves as an operations officer in the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security (DPTMS).

Duties

Coordinates installation operations with higher, lower and adjacent headquarters, and coordinates the efforts of the installation staff in support of on-going operations. Serves as special project officer for a myriad of actions having Fort Huachuca Garrison Command and higher headquarters emphasis. Performs duties as a Battle Captain in the Installation Operations Center (IOC). Plans, analyzes, and recommends actions required to implement operation and contingency plans applicable to the installation.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) may be required up to 5%.
• Subject to on-call approximately every 6 weeks as the emergency operations on-call officer.
• Required to do shift work during emergency operations.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• This position has been identified as being a Key Position under the provisions of AR 690-11, Use and Management of Civilian Personnel in Support of Military Contingency Operations.
• In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Emergency-Essential". Emergency-Essential designation takes precedence over any transportation agreement or military recall status.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
