The position is located in the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration's (TIGTA) Office of Mission Support (OMS), Facilities Management and Support Services (FM&SS), Facilities Management (FM) Team. OMS provides tools and infrastructure to aid TIGTA's functional offices in executing the mission of the organization and delivering on business goals.
Duties
As a Support Services Specialist, you will:
Analyze and revise existing work methods and techniques to improve the productivity and performance of segments of Facilities Management programs and initiatives.
Receive, evaluate, and act upon TIGTA functional requests for the production of agency identification "pocket" credentials, as well as the issuance of agency badges/shields.
Coordinate directly with the Deputy Inspector General for Mission Support (DIGMS) in obtaining the TIGTA Inspector General's validating signature on all credentialing documents.
Receive, evaluate, and make recommendation to the FM&SS director on application requests for the issuance of photographic identification (credentials) to qualified retired or honorably separated law enforcement officers of TIGTA, pursuant to the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) of 2004, as amended (the Act).
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-09, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
Experience with the laws and regulations surrounding the issuance and control of credentials and badges/shields; AND
Compiling, analyzing, and reporting volume statistics on incoming and outgoing mail and packages; AND
Controlling, safeguarding, distributing, and auditing local travel fare cards while ensuring balances are replenished when low.
OR Education: Master's degree or equivalent or two years progressively higher education leading to such a degree, or an LL.B. or J.D. if related. (Attach copy of transcript or list of college courses designating semester or quarter hours earned to ensure proper credit.)
OR You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. This is creditable providing the combination consists of 100% of the requirement. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education.
Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-09, you must have been at the GS-07level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
Education
Education Requirements: The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. If you are qualifying based on foreign education, you must submit proof of creditability of education as evaluated by a credentialing agency. Refer to the
OPM instructions.
