About the Position: Fort Meade is located almost midway between the cities of Baltimore, MD and Washington, DC and is home to approximately 12,000 military personnel along with about 37,000 civilian employees. Approximately 6,000 family members reside on post. Fort Meade is virtually a city in itself, with a modern exchange mall, a commissary, state of the art fitness centers, historical library, jogging trails, RV Park and much more.
Duties
Participates in developing and implementing program plans.
Formulates major portions of the operating budgets, budget reviews and status reports/ Responsible for coordinating all phases of the Operating Budget Program to include preparation of narrative justifications and analyses.
Maintains constant surveillance as to the status of funds, investigates areas showing adverse trends and recommends corrective action.
Develops and reviews recommendations on the allocation, allotment or reapportionment of funds to various major activities.
Develops written reports with supporting justifications and prepares recommendations for final action on major reprogramming actions.
Requirements

- Financial Management Level 2 Certification required.
- Up to 10% TDY may be required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes monitoring budget execution functions; generating budget and financial reports; coordinating all phases of an operating budget; and justifying budget requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
