About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Defense Pacific Market Hawaii Region, Director of Resource Management Information Management located at Tripler Army Medical Center. Federal employees in Hawaii are currently entitled to receive a 9.28% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) in addition to the base salary. This is subject to change.

Duties

Preparation and Processing of Medical Command Publications. Ensure all electronic publications are formatted in standard word processing (Word) format. Create/maintains templates for creating and review of publications.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Temporary duty travel (TDY) may be required up to 5% of the time.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To be qualified for GS-09 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) Assist with composing and editing written publication; 2) experience developing new information materials such as fact sheets, brochures, booklets etc.; 3) Conduct research, compiling data and correspondence. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Successfully completed a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Human Resource Management. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. To be qualified for GS-11 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) Provide technical advice and consulting for medical publications review. 2) Produce a variety of publications with appropriate guidelines and regulations 3) Advise leadership on the development of publication plans and strategies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Resources Management. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.). OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Communications and MediaCompliance InspectionComputer Skills Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
