Duties
You will plan, implement, or monitor environmental programs (i.e. Tanks and Spill Prevention Control Countermeasure, Hazardous Waste, Water Quality).
You will be responsible for developing and submitting permit applications, researching and enforcing permit conditions, and identifying and resolving compliance problems.
You will serve as command technical expert in oil spill preparedness and response. You will develop, implement, and manage Oil and Hazardous Substance (OHS) contingency planning and response programs.
You will develop and manage regional training plans, coordinate procurement of resources, and manage related operational environmental issues.
You will coordinate with federal, state, and local regulatory and resource agencies concerning environmental issues.
You will develop and provide a variety of reports and plans on proper petroleum management.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Reviewing environmental standards, specifications, and plans in order to ensure compliance with requirements for underground storage tanks and Petroleum, Oil and Lubricants; 2) Conducting site investigations and collaborating with customers and other organizations to resolve compliance concerns relating to hazardous material and environmental emergency response systems; 3)Gathering and submitting technical information in support of data calls, taskers, environmental submissions, and reports in assessing program effectiveness; 4) Analyzing proposed regulations of environmental factors in order to improve processes pertaining to spill prevention control and countermeasures; and 5) Communicating with employees, managers, contractors, and others to establish effective training procedures.
