About the Position: You will serve as a Human Resources Assistant for a Health Care Recruiting Team (HCRT), whose primary mission is to recruit health care professionals for appointment into the US Army (Active and/or Reserve).
Duties
Serves as a continuing point of contact for applicants and other parties interested in Army Medical Department (AMEDD) Personnel Procurement Programs.
Collects information from potential applicant and determines appropriate programs based upon the applicant's qualifications, field and degree level, experience, and interest.
Processes applications and assists the applicant in completing all required forms.
Prepares correspondence, forms, reports, or similar materials using automated data processing equipment.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is subject to a background investigation to include a National Agency Check and Inquiries(NACI).
- This position requires approximately 20% of your duty to be performed in Temporary Duty Away (TDY) from your place of work status.
- One-year trial/probationary period may be required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) Preparing and storing files, correspondence and reports, (2) Processing military actions AND (3) Providing top-tier customer service.
Due to the organizations normal progression applicants may qualify with at least 1 year at the next lower grader (GS-06) or the second lower level (GS-05)
OR
Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business or Human Resources. (NOTE: you must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed gradate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. (NOTE: you must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06). Education
