About the Position: Works directly for the supervisor of the Processing Section in a Military Entrance Processing Station. The United States Military Entrance Processing Command is a joint Department of Defense command responsible for processing applicants into 5 branches of military service (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard). The primary purpose of this position is to provide additional administrative assistance with the transportation arrangements for military enlistees.
Duties
Provide administrative assistance with transportation arrangements for military enlistees.
Prepare and perform quality review of applicant records, packets and forms.
Answer customer inquiries using knowledge of organizational procedures.
Utilize automated systems to input and retrieve information to prepare reports, correspondence for management.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A one year of probationary period may be required.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing controlled items in an office setting; operating a variety of office automation equipment; giving oral instructions to groups of people; maintaining and filing applicant records. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5-minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.
