About the Position: This position is for a Budget Analyst with the US Army Space & Missile Defense Command, located at Fort Carson, Colorado.

Duties
Responsible for all aspects of budget formulation, preparation, cost estimating, execution monitoring, and liquidation of funds for six separate program elements/sub activity assigned group accounts.
Develops plans, procedures, and instructions for the formulation and execution monitoring of the 1st Space Brigade's operating budget.
Analyzes budgetary and financial data for consistency with financial integrated priority lists/spend plans, policies, fiscal constraints, and regulatory guidelines.
Responsible for resolving problems, and for providing technical guidance and training to subordinate budget analysts.
Responsible for administering and monitoring the 1st Space Brigade's Defense Travel System (DTS) Program by performing duties of the Organizational Defense Travel Administrator.
Program Manager for the 1st Space Brigade Government Travel Card System.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Financial Management Level 1 Certification Required.
- Business travel up to 5% may be required.
- Incumbent of this position is required to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes demonstrated experience applying a comprehensive knowledge of governing budget policies, precedents, procedures and regulations; utilizing automated financial systems to process budget transactions, systems interfaces, and reimbursable processing; and compiling budget forecasts, estimates, and submissions following applicable policies, procedures and guidelines.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower pay band or equivalent grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02).
