The position functions as a Program Support Assistant (PSA) to the Health Care for Homeless Veterans (HCHV) Program. The position is located at the Orlando VA Medical Center under the guidance of the Social Work Service. The position supports Homeless Program operations at Daytona, Lake Baldwin and Viera but the duty station is in Viera.
Duties
Gives courteous, accurate and complete responses to peers, supervisors and internal/external customers in a timely manner.
Handles conflict and problems in dealing with the customer constructively and appropriately
Uses knowledge of the purpose and objectives of the organizational department and the
HCHV Program and tracks Homeless Program specific Performance Improvement projects.
Reviews work completion reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with organizational standards.
Plan and carry out work projects in various administrative areas, such as
budget and fund control points, space planning and management, general administration,
quality/productivity planning, and resolving complex Veterans and family issues.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/12/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.

Specialized experience: Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Receiving and distributing mail and correspondence; drafting presentations, memos and reports; timekeeping; scheduling meetings, obtaining conference rooms, and securing equipment for meetings; monitoring procurement transactions; tracking work orders; monitoring correspondence; and monitoring the use of services, supplies and equipment.

Physical Requirements: The work is typically sedentary, although physical effort on a daily basis may likely be required torespond to Veteran needs in the medical center, as well as to deliver or track program supplies and/or surplus items to meet with staff within the Orlando VA Medical Center and other clinics in the Orlando VA Healthcare System as needed. Manual dexterity is required in operation of personal computer and other office equipment. Driving a vehicle may be required to travel to community outreach events and to outpatient clinics where HCHV Case Managers provide services
