Please note this position does have a telework option but, is NOT eligible for a remote position, and you will be required to be in the community area of the duty station.
Duties
Serve as a second level supervisor (Branch Chief) with technical and administrative supervisory responsibilities to include the oversight of subordinate staff performing work related to an assigned functional area in the Accounts Payable Directorate.
Monitor and evaluate financial systems support to ensure compliance, internal controls, and optimal operating procedures.
Analyze budget and resource activity within the immediate work area, and makes recommendations within the area that have positive impact on overall DFAS budget without negatively impacting daily area operations.
Plan, manage and supervise the assigned organization which consists of technician personnel and provide both technical and administrative oversight to employees.
Validate financial information from source systems to resolve problems and enhance accuracy and integrity of financial management data using external/internal reports.

Qualifications
GS-9: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-7) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.Specialized Experience is defined as: performing financial management data analysis; creating recommendations for business process improvements; and providing customer support for an automated accounting or financial management system.
GS-11: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-9) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.Specialized Experience is defined as: planning, scheduling and conducting reviews and evaluations on financial management data analysis; analyzing issues or problems, selecting and applying appropriate analytical techniques and methods in order to recommend solutions or improvements to organizational functions.
Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. To be considered for the GS-9, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-7 or higher in the Federal service. To be considered for the GS-11, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-9 or higher in the Federal service.
This announcement will be used to fill positions with an entry grade of GS-9, or GS-11 with a target grade of GS-11.The minimum salary for grade GS-9 is $57,642, the maximum salary is $74,932. The minimum salary for grade GS-11 is $69,741, the maximum salary is $90,661.
Education
GS-9 Substitution of Education for Experience: Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education, Master's or equivalent graduate degree, may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements.
