You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN) in ORG 1041 in the IT Operations Branch, in the ACIO/Information Technology Division, of the Corporate Operations Department of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CTR CORONA DIV.

Duties

You will serve as the Lead IT Architect for the Corona Unclassified and Classified Research Development Test and Evaluation Networks. You will serve as a senior technical expert and provide guidance to the team on difficult or unusual assignments. You will troubleshoot and analyze unusual or complex hardware and software malfunctions, integration, and interoperability issues, emerging technologies and optimize existing architecture. You will survey system operations to identify and anticipate potential problems, which could lead to loss or serious interruption of service, or compromise of system data. You will develop proposals to enhance operational use of systems and networking hardware and software and keep abreast of technological advances to ensure continued optimum service. You will apply innovative techniques and seasoned judgment to assist management in identifying areas where IT systems can reduce or eliminate labor and time intensive manual processes. You will represent the organization in various technical meetings that have an impact or command wide policies. You will identify and anticipate server performance, availability, capacity, or configuration problems; resolve installation problems; identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities and risks; and maintain server integrity and availability.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is designated a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain credentials described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for ENTERPRISE ARCHITECT, Master level, within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 pay band (GS-11/12 equivalent) or grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector evaluating network performance, capacity or configuration to resolve network issues and maintain server integrity and availability. You must also demonstrate attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
